Safety & Manufacturing Engineer

In our Upstate New York headquarters, we house some of the most advanced equipment available to produce new and unique components for the jewelry industry. Role Summary The Safety & Manufacturing Engineer strengthens plant performance by improving manufacturing processes while ensuring workplace safety and regulatory compliance across equipment, workstations, and operations. Key Responsibilities Include Process & Safety Integration: Design & Optimize manufacturing lines, tool layouts, and assembly steps while embedding safety protocols directly into the production cycle. Risk Assessments & Audits: Perform and document machine and job hazard evaluations to prevent accidents and equipment failures. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all plant activities, machinery guards, and procedures comply with OSHA and local environmental health & safety regulations. Continuous Improvement: Lead and implement projects to reduce waste, downtime, and material variances while maintaining or improving operator safety. Incident & Accident Investigations: Investigate all accidents/incidents, near-misses, or production defects to find root causes and implement corrective actions. Training & Documentation: Develop or update existing SOPs, safety manuals, safety procedures and policies. Conduct periodic and annual training as required or needed. Collaboration & Safety Awareness: Assemble and lead an effective safety team, conduct regular safety meetings, create excitement and awareness to safety by implementing various safety events. Required Qualifications/skills Bachelor’s degree preferred in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent experience) CAD proficiency Familiarity with machinery controls, PLCs, and risk-assessment frameworks Knowledge of industrial safety standards; OSHA 511 certification If you’re ready to make measurable impact in safety and manufacturing, we encourage you to apply.
