Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with Primoris Services Corporation standards, OSHA, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, to determine contributing factors and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels, including new hire orientations, specialized hazard training, and refresher courses.
- Manage and maintain all safety documentation, records, and reports, ensuring accuracy and availability for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the administration of the company's workers' compensation program, working closely with HR and claims adjusters.
- Collaborate with project management, operations, and other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and inquiries.
- Promote and foster a proactive safety culture through communication, recognition programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend safety equipment and technologies to enhance workplace safety.
- Participate in pre-job planning meetings to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in safety management within the industrial construction, energy, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations (especially 1910 and 1926), DOT, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local safety standards.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective safety management systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other job sites as needed.
