Kiewit Power Constructors (KPC) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force. We build major EPC power projects throughout North America. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans and procedures specific to power generation projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and Kiewit's safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and assess safety risks.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and subcontractors, including guidance on safety-related certifications and qualifications for specific job roles.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization.
- Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure timely reporting of all safety incidents in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and standards applicable to power generation projects, maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure safety performance on projects, conducting regular assessments and audits to evaluate adherence to safety standards.
- Provide timely and accurate safety reports to project management and senior leadership, identifying areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial, or equivalent degree/work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Heavy Industrial and/or Solar projects.
- Strong work ethic with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to act independently with little or no supervision and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with standard personal computers and office software.
- Ability to work in varying environments, including diverse weather conditions and terrain.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current Federal and OSHA requirements is preferred.
