About the role
The Safety Manager oversees the safety protocols and practices within the school bus yard operations in Yonkers, NY. This position ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and maintains a safe working environment for all employees.Responsibilities
- Evaluate and implement safety procedures and policies
- Conduct regular safety inspections of school buses and facilities
- Train staff on safety protocols and emergency response plans
- Oversee accident investigations and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with federal and state safety standards
- Develop and maintain safety records and reports
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Education, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in school bus operations or equivalent
- Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations
- Experience in managing safety programs and conducting safety audits
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Background check required
