Primary Responsibilities
- Aid in conducting jobsite safety inspections and identifying potential hazards.
- Support the implementation of the project safety plan and Wharton-Smith’s safety policies.
- Maintain awareness of jobsite activities to ensure the proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
- Document incidents, near-misses, and safety observations as required.
- Participate in safety meetings and training initiatives.
- Manage safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Preferred OSHA 10-hour certification.
- Experience working in a construction jobsite environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to observe, identify, and document safety hazards.
- Organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
- Willingness to learn and support construction safety programs and initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Ability to perform jobsite safety inspections and hazard recognition.
- Familiarity with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and enforcement.
- Understanding of incident reporting and investigation procedures.
- Experience maintaining safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Basic knowledge of construction processes and jobsite operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for safety reporting.
- Ability to track and analyze safety metrics and observations.
