Safety Manager

Job Duties

• Identify, evaluate and coordinate with management and safety leads, implementation of new methods and approaches to accelerate safety improvement.
• Provide management and leadership in safety loss prevention.
• Ensure reporting on safety related equipment, safety and hazard compliance as required. Ex: Fire Marshall reports, SDS reports, fire extinguishers, etc.
• Provide leadership recommendation for safety activities.
• Develops corrective action strategies.
• Manages investigations conducted due to serious injuries, OSHA requirements, or other considerations.
• Provide ongoing compliance, safety and regulation interpretation information and advice to Safety Leads and field management on matters associated with employee safety and other related issues.
• Maintain and coordinate a variety of safety programs such as safety boot, prescription eyewear, along with other programs.
• Create training specific to area of responsibility (OSHA) with the requirements of company policy and government and customer regulations.
• Partner with farm and dairy Safety Leads to manage, verify, coordinate and update safety program requirements and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legislation and codes related to health and safety.
• Develop and enforce process, procedure and documentation around employee health and safety issues.
• Collect, analyze and report safety data collected through first reports of injury, monthly safety reports, workers compensation reports and various other reports.
• Coincordinate and prepare various reports for state, federal and insurance carrier requests as required.
• Maintain and update the employee health and safety manual.
• Research, develop, and coordinate safety training for all personnel in compliance with federal, state, local and company safety procedures using a variety of training methods.
• Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other team members and management.
• Attend required company meetings and training and participate in constructive discussion.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
• Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of Threemile Canyon Farms.
• Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in safety management, Business Administration, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or other job-related field preferred or equivalent combination of hours in coursework and/or relevant certifications 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of applicable safety laws.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience with Safety Management systems.
• Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written.
• Proficient in Spanish language.
• Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
