Safety Manager

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction safety
• Minimum 5 years of managing multiple projects in different stages of construction at multiple jobsite locations
• Minimum 5 years field experience as Construction Safety Consultant working with General Contractors and Subcontractors
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Department of State Architectural Control (DSA)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Safety Management for Public Sector Construction
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
• Current OSHA 500 (Trainer in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry) certification
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• Minimum of holding a valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related spreadsheet and database software

Qualifications

• Construction management, safety management, safety engineer or related degree is preferred
• Experience on modernization-type projects involving asbestos and lead-based paint disturbance
• Extensive knowledge and experience with senior safety management with large building programs across multiple sites

Skills

• Flexibility in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties throughout the greater Los Angeles area
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment, establish daily work priorities, and perform oversight at multiple active construction projects
• Good written and oral communication skills
