Safety and Environmental Programs
The Safety and Environmental Manager will lead safety and environmental programs across all P&K Stone operations. The role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes safe work practices, and supports plant leadership in maintaining safe and efficient operations.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations across all sites
- Lead safety programs for crushing, screening, and material handling operations
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Coach Plant Managers and Supervisors on safe work practices
- Drive accountability for safety performance at all levels
- Track and report safety metrics (incidents, near misses, audits)
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (air, water, waste)
- Manage dust control, stormwater, and material storage programs
- Oversee permits, inspections, and required reporting
- Conduct environmental audits across all facilities
- Promote a strong safety-first culture across all operations
- Lead by example and reinforce company values daily
- Hold leadership teams accountable for safety and environmental performance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all locations
Training and Compliance
Ensure required MSHA training is completed (new miner, annual refresher, task training)
- Develop and deliver safety training for operations
- Support leadership development in safety accountability and communication
- Maintain accurate OSHA and MSHA records and training logs
- Ensure all documentation is audit-ready and compliant
- Prepare reports for leadership and regulatory agencies
- Standardize PPE requirements across all operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in aggregates, mining, or heavy industry
- Strong hands-on experience in aggregate or recycled materials operations
- Advanced knowledge of MSHA regulations (required)
- Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Proven leadership experience in multi-site operations
