Safety Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced safety professional to perform safety audits, training, and risk evaluations. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial hygiene, including personal exposure sampling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety audits and train employees on safety protocols
• Evaluate risks and recommend corrective actions
• Identify and recommend corrective measures for known and potential exposures
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Work third shift as needed

Requirements

• Four-year degree in Safety and Health or equivalent
• At least ten (10) years of safety experience or more than fifteen (15) years of experience in building construction
• A working knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques
• One (1) recognized safety-related certification, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), etc., highly desirable
• A thorough understanding of federal, state, and local regulations
• The ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures
