Schedule

Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with availability for emergency calls after hours and on weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Champion superior safety performance by leading efforts in driving, warehouse, field, and office operations, ensuring a secure environment for all.
  • Monitor safety systems and reports, collaborating with supervisors, managers, and leadership to swiftly address and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive safety training programs, including effective communication methods to engage diverse teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant laws, including OSHA regulations and Louisiana state requirements, while handling required reporting and record-keeping.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in accident investigations, providing expert guidance to supervisory staff.
  • Innovate by identifying emerging needs, leveraging new technologies, and expanding company capabilities to stay ahead of trends.
  • Oversee the worker's compensation program, including training, tracking, reporting, documentation, and coordination with insurance and healthcare providers.
  • Observe operational trends and deliver insightful recommendations to senior management to drive ongoing improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years in safety management or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience managing safety programs and training for varied populations.
  • Proficiency in compliance and reporting at local, state, and national levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and Louisiana state laws.
  • Experience in fleet management.

Skills

  • Proven expertise in identifying hazards and implementing effective corrective measures.
  • Demonstrated success managing worker's compensation programs, including documentation, tracking, reporting, and liaising with insurers and medical providers.
  • Ability to create and deliver training on a wide range of safety topics to diverse audiences.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or lower up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Capable of standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and crouching for extended periods.
  • Work across office, warehouse, and field settings.
