Responsibilities

• Take charge of planning, developing, and driving a comprehensive workplace safety and environmental health program for a Federally Qualified Health Center.

• Lead disaster readiness efforts and establish policies and procedures to ensure seamless execution.

• Champion safety across all Elica Health Centers locations, delivering measurable success in workplace safety and environmental health metrics.

• Collaborate with performance improvement initiatives and organizational goals, working in synergy with the Human Resources and Compliance teams to guarantee the highest levels of employee safety and active participation.

• Create a safe, proactive, and empowered workplace by leading the way in creating a safe, proactive, and empowered workplace.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional safety experience, with at least one year in a healthcare environment.

• Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting is highly preferred.

• A proven track record in leading change management initiatives, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures across large, complex organizations.

• Strong experience in collaboration, consensus building, influencing, and partnership development, with a solid service-oriented mindset.

• A BA/BS in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, public health, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and/or experience working with compliance offices such as The Joint Commission, Cal-EPA, DOHS, Cal-OSHA, Department of Agriculture, and the State Fire Marshal.

• Industry certification in any of the following is preferred: REA, CHEM, CSP/ASP, CHMM, CIH, OSHA.

• Strong understanding of financial management and its impact on the company’s profitability.

• Excellent planning and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to work independently and resolve practical problems while keeping all relevant parties informed of any issues or risks.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a standard Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
