Pay

$45.00 – $55.00 per hour
Per diem available for travelers

About the role

Diversified Safety Services is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager to join our team and support a data-center project in Northern Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, ensuring compliance, and fostering a proactive approach to workplace health and safety on a large-scale, high-visibility project.

Responsibilities

• Champion a proactive safety culture by preparing and enforcing health and safety policies.
• Design and implement safety programs, plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Monitor safety compliance, document findings, and communicate updates.
• Identify hazards early, recommend solutions, and ensure preventive measures are in place.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training sessions to keep teams engaged and aligned.
• Maintain regular on-site presence, participate in project meetings, and provide proactive safety guidance.
• Verify that all work follows approved manuals, internal procedures, and contract requirements.
• Maintain accurate logs of inspections, reports, and safety correspondence.
• Supervise subcontractors and contractors to ensure work meets EHS requirements.
• Conduct investigations for accidents, incidents, and near misses; follow through on corrective actions.
• Enforce proper use of PPE and compliance with safety procedures at all times.
• Support additional safety initiatives and requirements as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 preferred.
• Experience with excavation & trenching, confined space, and fall protection.
• BCSP Certification (STS-C, CHST) preferred but not required.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, regulations, and safety programs.
• Ability to produce clear reports, develop procedures, and implement effective safety solutions.
• Excellent hazard recognition, data analysis, and risk assessment skills.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Professional presence on-site and ability to lead teams through incidents or emergencies with composure.
