Safety Lane Inspector

Responsibilities

• Identify D.O.T. issues on any/all equipment Marten operates.
• Ensure C.S.A. violations are identified and repaired prior to equipment leaving facility.
• Clear and concise understanding of the fleet's equipment and how to properly maintain the company standard.
• Capture and inspect all equipment at respective terminals during yard checks and monitoring.
• Ensure all company, EPA and Safety policies are complied with to meet local, state and federal standards.
• Accountable for all direct and indirect labor hours on a daily and weekly basis.
• Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
• Return all unused parts to the parts room and does not abuse company tools.
• Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, keeping spills, grease and debris to a minimum.
• Coach and communicate effectively with shop and driving staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Abilities/Skills Required

• Mechanical skills and aptitude for the position.
• Skills and knowledge as demonstrated through company pre-employment exam.
• Ability to read and write English language and basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Able to stand for long hours.
• Able to work various shifts and days.
• Able to work in all types of climates including extreme hot and cold.
