Responsibilities
- Identify D.O.T. issues on any/all equipment Marten operates.
- Ensure C.S.A. violations are identified and repaired prior to equipment leaving facility.
- Clear and concise understanding of the fleet's equipment and how to properly maintain the company standard.
- Capture and inspect all equipment at respective terminals during yard checks and monitoring.
- Ensure all company, EPA and Safety policies are complied with to meet local, state and federal standards.
- Accountable for all direct and indirect labor hours on a daily and weekly basis.
- Completes all repair orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate unit.
- Return all unused parts to the parts room and does not abuse company tools.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of work area, keeping spills, grease and debris to a minimum.
- Coach and communicate effectively with shop and driving staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Abilities/Skills Required
- Mechanical skills and aptitude for the position.
- Skills and knowledge as demonstrated through company pre-employment exam.
- Ability to read and write English language and basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Able to stand for long hours.
- Able to work various shifts and days.
- Able to work in all types of climates including extreme hot and cold.
