Safety & Health Specialist I / II / III
Position Overview
We are seeking a Safety & Health Specialist to lead and facilitate safety and health standards, procedures, training programs, and incident investigations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of EHS Management Systems, OSHA regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), behavior-based safety, and industry safety practices. This position will play a key role in identifying and mitigating operational risks, improving safety performance, and promoting a strong safety culture across field operations and contractor teams.
Responsibilities
- Participate in pre-job planning, hazard identification, JSAs, and risk assessments.
- Conduct field inspections, audits, safety engagements, and observations.
- Lead incident investigations, near-miss reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Support contractor safety management and high-risk work activities.
- Provide expertise in permit-to-work systems, energy isolation, and life-critical procedures.
- Partner with operations and contractors to improve hazard recognition and safety leadership.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Monitor safety metrics and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop and review safety processes, standards, and procedures.
- Ensure Process Safety Information is available and compliant.
- Provide guidance on OSHA employee and construction safety regulations.
- Lead and facilitate process safety reviews, plans, and audits.
- Develop and deliver safety training and education on new regulations.
- Support industrial hygiene and emergency management activities.
- Mentor team members and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Safety & Health Specialist I
High School Diploma/GED Required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Safety & Health Specialist II
High school diploma/GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, safety, or a related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Safety & Health Specialist III
High school diploma/GED required. Minimum 4 years of experience in safety or a related safety role. Bachelor's degree preferred. CIH, ASP, CSP, CCPS, or similar recognized Occupational Safety & Health certification preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Safety must be the highest priority.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PC applications.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Facility Operations Experience Preferred.
