About the role

Tampa Electric Company is seeking a Safety Data Analytics Specialist to join our Safety team in Midtown East Tower. This position is responsible for advanced safety analytics and automation, safety systems and regulatory knowledge, and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive technical support regarding all aspects of Safety and Industrial Health, including tabulating data and generating and distributing reoccurring and ad-hoc safety recordkeeping reports.

  • Lead and/or assist special data processing and software projects designed to improve safety reporting, awareness, and overall safety culture.

  • Administer the Tampa Electric CDL Drug Testing Program and assist in the administration and coordination of safety, health and industrial hygiene related programs, policies, training, and initiatives with the intent of strengthening the overall safety culture and ensuring compliance of federal (OSHA, DOT), state, local and corporate safety requirements.

  • Process general purchase requests and invoices for contractor labor and outside purchases, ensuring all documents are validated with correct numbers and work orders, and contacting requestors and buyers for additional dollar amounts, and contacting vendors with problems related to invoicing.

Qualifications

  • Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Preferred: Associate degree from an accredited college in related field.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Required: None Preferred: None

  • Experience: A minimum of two years of experience designing and/or constructing databases, complex spreadsheets, and SharePoint sites. Preferred: Minimum of one year in a utility environment.

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Required: Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, SharePoint, Power Point, Word, Outlook), Internet, SAP/ESS. Must be a proven self-starter, highly organized and effective in working independently as well as in a team environment. Strong oral/written communication skills. Able to maintain knowledge of sensitive information.
