Safety and Security Officer Non-Armed

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains weapons scanning equipment.
• Enforces OhioHealth facility policies regarding parking regulations, visitation policies, drug enforcement, tobacco free/smoking policy, weapons free and others.
• Maintains surveillance of facility activity on closed circuit television to be alerted to any escalating situations.
• Intervenes in patient, visitor and/or staff confrontations as appropriate.
• Completes appropriate documentation of incidents.
• Demonstrates understanding of emergency procedures, alarm response, evacuation, and internal and external disaster plans.
• Works independently to determine the correct response to most situations and initiate actions accordingly.

Qualifications

• High School or GED (Required)
• BLS Certified
• Valid State Driver's License
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• DL - Driver's License - Department of Motor Vehicles
• Computer skills, MSDS and safety knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Mentally and physically capable to successfully complete training for, participate in, and maintain Certifications as applicable
