About the role
The Safety and Security Officer position at Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the healthcare environment. Duties include routine building patrols, checking for unsafe conditions, responding to emergencies, and monitoring security systems.
Responsibilities
- Routine patrols in and around divisional buildings, focusing on key areas.
- Checks for unsafe conditions, fire checks, prowlers, vandalism, and other unusual occurrences.
- Makes rounds of assigned area at least three times during shifts, documenting findings and operational duties.
- Promptly responds to emergencies and interacts with other care team members, patients, and visitors.
- Maintains vigilance over alarm activations and video camera systems, investigating incidents as needed.
- Verbalizes de-escalation techniques and handles physical confrontations as necessary.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current and valid driver's license.
- Minimal computer literacy.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
Qualifications
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to interact tactfully with the general public and specialty patients, including those with behavioral health concerns or altered mental status.
- Knowledge of security methods and the ability to de-escalate situations.
- Physical fitness to engage in physical confrontations.
