About the role

We are seeking an energetic and talented individual to manage safety, security, and transportation programs at the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center. The ideal candidate will oversee these critical areas, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and property.
  • Directly oversees and supervises safety, security, and transportation operations.
  • Maintains policies and enforces all relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Serves as a liaison with local law enforcement, fire departments, and code officials.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains safety, security, and transportation plans and procedures.
  • Coordinates the Center's emergency preparedness plan.
  • Conducts and documents inspections, implements corrective actions, and abates identified hazards.
  • Led the Safety Committee.
  • Conducts safety drills (fire, lockdown, evacuation, etc.) and performs or assists with accident investigations.
  • Performs building safety and security checks and coordinates personnel training in safety-related areas.
  • Coordinates center transportation needs, maintains logs for vehicle use, maintenance, and fuel usage, investigates vehicle accidents, and ensures compliance with regulations.
  • Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate career success skills and helps students become more employable.
  • Participates in PRH mandated staff training and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Above average public speaking skills and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Internet, e-mail, MS Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work any shift and day of the week.
  • Ability to obtain a commercial drivers' license and travel periodically.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety laws.
  • Minimum three years’ security experience, with one year in a supervisory capacity preferably in a residential setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree with three years security experience and one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Valid State Drivers’ License.

Qualifications

  • Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Close, distance, and peripheral vision.
