Safety Advisor

About the role

The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put Safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel.

Responsibilities

• Timely response to EHSS incidents involving 3rd party contractors (including but not limited to Incident reports, pictures, witness statements, etc.)
• Immediately communicate with field personnel or management to resolve violations of EHSS and Life Saving Rules (Note: This may also include deciding to STOP WORK)
• Conduct field safety audits on a daily or project-based schedule
• Input and track audit findings to closure
• Assist the contractor safety leader with RCAs, 5-why, etc.
• Serve as backup for TCON (badge system) and orientation

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required (related/comparable work experience)
• Three plus years in a plant or construction-related environment
• Experience with construction safety
• Have or ability to obtain OSHA 500/510
• Experience in Industrial Chemical Construction a plus
• Experience with 29 CFR 1926, 1910, 1904, including field audit experience
• Experience with JSA's and LOTOs
• Knowledge of rigging, scaffolding, fall protection, crane, and other large construction equipment
• Proficient computer skills
