About the role
The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put Safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel.
Responsibilities
- Timely response to EHSS incidents involving 3rd party contractors (including but not limited to Incident reports, pictures, witness statements, etc.)
- Immediately communicate with field personnel or management to resolve violations of EHSS and Life Saving Rules (Note: This may also include deciding to STOP WORK)
- Conduct field safety audits on a daily or project-based schedule
- Input and track audit findings to closure
- Assist the contractor safety leader with RCAs, 5-why, etc.
- Serve as backup for TCON (badge system) and orientation
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required (related/comparable work experience)
- Three plus years in a plant or construction-related environment
- Experience with construction safety
- Have or ability to obtain OSHA 500/510
- Experience in Industrial Chemical Construction a plus
- Experience with 29 CFR 1926, 1910, 1904, including field audit experience
- Experience with JSA's and LOTOs
- Knowledge of rigging, scaffolding, fall protection, crane, and other large construction equipment
- Proficient computer skills

- Being exposed to loud noises
