About the role

Primary Children's Center for Safe and Healthy Families is an integrated medical and behavioral health clinic dedicated to serving children and adolescents who have experienced child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief. Safe and Healthy Families provides specialized, evidence‑based outpatient mental health treatment within a multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare setting. The Mental Health Therapist will provide assessment, diagnosis, and evidence‑based therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and their caregivers. Therapists work collaboratively with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support healing and resilience following experiences of abuse, neglect, trauma, loss, and other adverse childhood experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about trauma‑informed care, values interdisciplinary collaboration, and is committed to delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based mental health services to vulnerable youth and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based outpatient mental health therapy to children and adolescents with histories of child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief.
• Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation.
• Deliver trauma‑informed individual, family, and caregiver‑focused interventions as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Utilize evidence‑based treatment approaches to address trauma‑related symptoms, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation, grief, and family functioning.
• Engage caregivers as active participants in treatment and support implementation of therapeutic recommendations.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.
• Participate in clinical consultation, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work or a related field from an accredited institution (degree will be verified).
• Current state licensure as LCSW, CMHC, or LMFT.
• Successful completion of the credentialing process (may take up to 60 days) prior to starting.
• Physical requirements: ability to see and read information, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies; frequent verbal communication and hearing; manual dexterity for complex equipment; expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve/lift/carry supplies (up to heavy items); walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients, push/pull gurneys and portable equipment; navigate crowded rooms; may need to stand stationary for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Experience with patients, families, and treatment teams (preferred).
• Dual licensure (preferred).
• For Montana applicants: current state licensure as a MHPP (preferred).

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with email and word processing.

Benefits

• $2,500 sign‑on bonus for external applicants with 1+ year of experience.

Pay

The hourly rate ranges from $35.60 to $54.93, based on experience.

Schedule

Full‑time, day shift, 40 hours per week.
