Qualifications
- Ed Tech Level 3 (Preferred)
- Completion of at least 3 years of post-secondary education or a combination equivalent to 90 hours of approved study in an educationally related field.
- Knowledge of the learning process, primarily in math and reading instruction.
- Maine Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) required.
- Educational Technician Certification
- Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Willingness to complete any required training or certification programs.
- Must be able to work with diverse learners, including students with special needs and juggle multiple tasks.
- Ability to help maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
- Maintains student privacy and upholds ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan for, and instruct small groups of students in settings removed from the classroom.
- Support students with special needs by following individualized education plans (IEPs) or behavioral plans.
- Monitor student behavior and assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment.
- Absorb and extend teacher-directed instruction through structured intervention activities and guided practice.
- Assist in data collection and documentation of student progress.
- Supervise students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, recess, and lunch areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator.
Math Interventionist Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and individualized math instruction to assigned students in classrooms, library settings, or designated intervention spaces.
- Support students in improving math comprehension and fluency using materials and strategies aligned with classroom instruction.
- Reinforce and extend teacher-directed instruction through structured intervention activities and guided practice.

- Assist students with math-based assignments, homework, projects, and related academic tasks as directed by supervising teachers.
- Implement intervention plans developed in collaboration with classroom teachers, math specialists, and support staff.
- Maintain organized records of student participation, progress, and observed needs, and share information with supervising staff.
- Monitor student engagement, behavior, and work habits during intervention sessions and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Support students in developing independent learning strategies and study skills related to math.
- Participate in relevant professional development related to math instruction, intervention strategies, and student support when available.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising administrator.
