Responsibilities
As an H-E-B Pharmacy Tech, you'll work in a team environment, helping ensure we exceed patient expectations while delivering excellent, accurate, and efficient services. Key responsibilities include:
- Role modeling and providing superior customer service and service standards
- Promoting and embodying "Greet, Ask & Thank" and H-E-B telephone strategies
- Managing exception station and solving third-party issues
- Receiving and processing written prescriptions from customers using RxEVO
- Coordinating Rx screening events, flu shot scheduling, immunization scheduling, and future events
- Maintaining H-E-B Rx screener status and participating in screening events
- Assisting with Pharmacy operations-related tasks
- Ordering and managing inventory, processing invoices, and reviewing Warehouse and DSD orders
- Maintaining automated prescription processing equipment and applying computer troubleshooting and prescription application overview
Compliance
The role also involves ensuring compliance with various regulations and procedures, including:
- Performing prescription assembly and hand-counting controlled medications
- Ensuring privacy and confidentiality of Personal Health Information (PHI) as required by HIPAA
- Ensuring compliance with Central Fill check-in procedures and Pharmacy Partner compliance with ORT, 5-S, and Pharmacy Standards Review
- Participating in facility and office maintenance and upkeep, and ensuring 5-S compliance
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in pharmacy, preferably as a retail Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Knowledge of pharmacy-related management tasks and H-E-B RxEVO system
- Advanced communication skills and telephone etiquette
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and H-E-B related systems
- Mathematical skills, including calculating measurements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks
- Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations and work with little direct supervision
Requirements
The candidate must also meet the following requirements:
- Active State of Texas registration as a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT)
- Maintain certification with 20 hours of continuing education every 2 years
- Certification as an H-E-B Pharmacy Technician and RxEVO certification
- Successful completion of all training, including H-E-B Screener certification, Advanced Cash Register (ACR), HIPAA, FWA, MethGuard, Diversity, and Company orientation
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
The role involves working in a fast-paced, retail, office environment, with rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. The candidate must be able to:
- Stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours)
- Regularly lift 30 lbs or more
- Use arms and hands in repetitive motion that require hand and finger dexterity
- Meet specific vision requirements, including close vision and color vision
