RX Attendant

About the role

The RX Attendant performs a wide range of prescription related activities within the Hospital’s pharmacy area under policy direction from the Pharmacy Supervisor and Hospital Manager, with support from and input from the Medical Directors.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and timely prescription refills in conjunction with excellent client service.
• Manages all aspects of the pharmacy prescriptions.
• Provides veterinary pharmacy knowledge and experience, if applicable.
• Ensures customer service standards are met.
• Communicates effectively, both written and orally.
• Manages client communications.
• Plans, organizes, and presents ideas and concepts effectively.
• Utilizes information from clients, staff, and other sources to fulfill pharmacy orders.
• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and manages high levels of stress.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Dependable attendance is required.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Willingness to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.
• Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour day.
• Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written directions.
• Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, give information in person, and over the telephone.

• Goal-oriented and detail-oriented.
• Background in managing client communications.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and manage changing priorities.

Skills

• Customer Service.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine, if applicable.
• Ability to plan, organize, and effectively present ideas and concepts.
• Ability to take information from clients, staff, and other sources and utilize it to fulfill pharmacy orders.
