Rural Water Engineer in Training

Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager with the development and preparation of plans, specifications, technical reports, and estimates.
  • Aid Project Managers in design and construction of structural systems of reinforced concrete, wood, masonry, structural steel, steel joists, and light gauge steel.
  • Aid Project Managers in performing structural design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including water-tight structures.
  • Aid design engineers in performing structural design of commercial, industrial, and residential structures.
  • Perform construction observation and administration on projects.
  • Create design drafting to prepare project drawings and details.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals in Engineering, or ability to complete within 6 months.
  • Working knowledge and experience using Revit, AutoCAD, and computer aided design software.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and curiosity.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain, stand or sit for prolonged periods, occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist, lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight, occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting up to 50 pounds, inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects, wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and occasionally work evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with a structural emphasis) or related field.
