Ruling Press Operator

About the role

This position focuses on processing steel rule-cutting, bending, notching, and preparing rule segments used to build precision cutting dies.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate rule bending/processing equipment according to job tickets and CAD layouts
• Load steel rule, run bending/notching operations, and verify accuracy before release
• Measure and inspect output to ensure bends, angles, and lengths meet specifications
• Adjust settings and troubleshoot process issues to maintain quality and minimize waste
• Maintain logs, counts, and quality checks in the system
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and keep equipment clean and ready
• Work closely with Die Makers and production teammates to prioritize and meet schedules
• Support cross-training and assist on other equipment when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area (PPE required)

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior machine operation experience in manufacturing preferred (die making/printing/packaging/converting is a plus)
• Ability to read job tickets, CAD images, and basic blueprints
• Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail
• Basic math and measuring skills (tape measure, tolerances, counts)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment with deadlines
