Description Summary
Carry out non-destructive testing inspections of structures, pipelines, or components and materials using various inspection techniques.
Essential Functions
- Conduct NDT testing in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and procedures.
- Select, prepare, load, calibrate, or operate NDT equipment.
- Identify defects in materials using appropriate testing techniques.
- Complete documentation and work orders following established protocols.
- Drive company vehicles safely and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Provide instruction to assigned assistants and ensure team safety.
Other Functions
- Perform general cleaning and minor maintenance duties.
- Routinely inspect equipment and maintain shop areas.
- Respond to call-outs on short notice and work extended periods.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- NDT Methods – Expertise in multiple NDT methods and willingness to learn and apply new skills.
- Mechanical – Intermediate mechanical knowledge.
- Safety – Knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Able to Work a Demanding and Flexible Schedule – Strong work ethic, ability to work long hours, and respond to call-outs.
- Physical Demands – Ability to lift and carry up to 150 pounds, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, stand, walk, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
- Customer Service – Professional interaction with customers.
- Team Work – Effective teamwork and ability to instruct others.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification and Licensure: Valid driver’s license, certification in one or more NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT), and TWIC card preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated NDT skill, knowledge, or experience.
