RT(R) - Radiologic Technologist

Full-time night shift position serving infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

About the Role

Perform radiological diagnostic procedures ordered by hospital Medical Staff in compliance with State, Federal regulations, and hospital policy. Operate diagnostic equipment, develop film, and prepare procedure rooms with necessary supplies. Assist the Director of Diagnostic Imaging with Quality Control, Performance Improvement, and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiological diagnostic procedures
• Operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment
• Develop film and prepare procedure rooms
• Perform clerical duties including scheduling, ordering supplies, and maintaining files
• Transport patients and manage receptionist tasks
• Stock department supplies and perform general cleaning
• Assist with Quality Control and Performance Improvement measures
• Conduct special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) license
• Current Louisiana State Radiological Technologist License (LSRT)

Physical Demands

• Medium work: lifting up to 50 pounds maximum, frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds
• Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Balancing to maintain body equilibrium
• Stooping, kneeling, and crouching as necessary
• Critical speech and hearing for communication
• Motor coordination and finger dexterity for eye-hand coordination
• Clarity of vision
• Ability to work under physical and mental stress for extended periods
• Shift work with variable hours; overtime may be required

• Over 75% of time spent in environmentally controlled setting
• Occupational Radiation Worker (radiation exposure risk)
• Exposure to sick or infectious patients (infectious risk – Category I)
• Exposure to blood and body fluids (bloodborne pathogen risk – Category I)
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals (chemical risk – Category I)
• Exposure to hazardous gases (gaseous risk – Category I)
• Potential to tolerate verbal abuse from disoriented or combative patients
