About the role

The Branch ISD Special Education Department serves students from pre-K to age 26 with mild to severe impairments, working closely with local schools to provide a range of services including instructional, hearing and vision, physical and occupational therapy, speech, psychological, and nursing services. The department is dedicated to the success of each student and fosters positive attitudes and work habits.

Responsibilities

• Classroom instruction of students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Meet the Highly Qualified requirements of teaching
• Maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor
• Show a positive attitude and outgoing personality
• Maintain confidentiality
• Engage in professional development as required by the State of Michigan

Requirements

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate
• Special Education endorsement in any disability area
• General Education Certification in a core academic subject
• Michigan's highly qualified Special Education teacher requirements
