School District 49 is actively seeking a Roving Substitute Teacher to work at PEAK Education Center.

About the Role

New substitutes are required to participate in an orientation—dates to be determined. This is a full-time position reporting to the Dean of PEAK Programs, following the PEAK calendar.

Pay

Daily pay rate: $210.00 for a full day (7.5 hours).

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred: Valid Colorado teaching license or Substitute Authorization (3- and 5-year only—1-year authorizations are not accepted)

Responsibilities

  • Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available instructional time
  • Demonstrate subject matter concepts using models, technology, and instructional aids
  • Maintain punctuality and good attendance
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, including proper use of equipment
  • Follow appropriate district policies and procedures
  • Assume responsibility for instruction, duties, and supervision of students according to the assigned position
  • Maintain confidentiality related to the job
  • Establish rapport with students and provide a pleasant, safe, and orderly climate conducive to learning
  • Supervise students in and out of classroom activities during the assigned workday
  • Effectively manage a classroom by keeping students on task and engaged
  • Assume all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher
  • Maintain a positive learning environment
  • Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work in a variety of classroom settings
  • Perform other associated duties as assigned
