About the role
The role of the Affordable Lease-up Coordinator is to provide phone and email support to affordable lease-up properties.
Responsibilities
- Determine and document prospect questions.
- Act as the first point of contact for prospects with questions on specific affordable housing projects.
- Knowable in max rent and income guidelines and affordable housing requirements.
- Aids applicants with the application process by explaining all applicable forms.
- Reviews applications for accuracy, completeness and guides applicant to the next step in the process.
- Affords assistance in scheduling tours or onsite application appointments.
- Processes applications remotely and submits to compliance.
- Completes daily and weekly reports as requested.
- Inputs all traffic and applications in the property management system regularly.
- Manages prospects by answering incoming calls and internet leads.
- All inquiry calls and emails must be returned promptly (within 24 hours).
- Maintains customer service and excellent relations with prospects and employees.
- Other tasks & duties as assigned based on business need.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Must be organized, detail oriented and have good time management skills.
- Experience within residential real estate is preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; Ability to communicate effectively with residents / vendors / external parties, and across corporate divisions.
- Computer skills preferred: Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote and Outlook, with ability to learn scheduling and other computer systems.
- Knowledge of Yardi or Property Management software strongly preferred.
- As applicable, advanced knowledge of Affordable Housing Programs.
- As applicable, must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with insurance and safe DMV driving record.
- Pleasant and engaging phone persona – must be able to project a ‘smile’ over the phone.
- Proven outstanding customer service.
- Listens and records accurately.
- Team-oriented and flexible/multi-tasking.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year in a professional office environment.
- Demonstrated general knowledge of Property Management desired.
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform the physical functions of the position, which may include, but are not limited to; ability to walk property, including up to 4 flights of stairs, to complete physical inspections, deliver resident communications, show apartments and drive a vehicle to visit area businesses for outreach marketing.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Range: $40,280 - $52,000.
- Coverage of compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual’s experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role.
