Routing Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION: In the Routing Coordinator position, you will be responsible for the utilization of strong communication and organization skills to work with drivers, trainees and sales to resolve issues related to deliveries. Utilization of automated routing tools to route loads to the customers. Based out of our Louisa, KY warehouse, you will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

• Creates routing schedules for delivery trucks in the safest most efficient manner (creating the shortest and safest routes possible to minimize driver overtime)
• Assembles work orders according to truck routes for loaders
• Reviews work orders for the correct delivery truck route
• Sets up daily tractor/trailer assignments for drivers
• Updates driver and trainee dispatch schedules daily
• Breaks down work orders and separates them according to the assigned truck route
• Routes the work orders for routing logs so that the material can be loaded on the trucks in delivery order (first on, last off)
• Performs other material handler duties as assigned by the management
• Prepares daily records and memos and maintains filing system for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Covers backhaul requests to accurately route
• Applies credit memos and item pick-up lists to corresponding customers
• Communicates with route drivers to fill in for vacations and sick days
• Sets up trainees to heavily loaded routes accordingly
• Collaborates and maintains customer keys for key drop locations
• Prepares invoices for shuttle drivers
• Keeps supervisor updated on customer delivery and driver problems
• Performs tasks as assigned by Supervisor
• Promotes a positive company image to customers and fellow employees

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to see, hear, speak in order to communicate and take direction from supervisor and/or other department managers
• Manual dexterity required for reaching and lifting of small objects and operating material handling equipment
