Router/Zund Operator

About the role

The Cutting Operator uses lasers, CNC Routers, or Zund cutters to cut merchandise to client-specified measurements. They maintain and clean the machines, test their accuracy, and use computer software to create cutting paths.

Responsibilities

• Operate Lasers, Routers, and Zund Cutters
• Maintain and keep Lasers, Routers, and Zund clean and operational
• Cut merchandise to fulfill Work Order specifications
• Upkeep in the Laser, Router, and Zund area
• Coordinate with Production Managers and Printers on job status and upcoming work
• Check and move merchandise in stage management
• Verify all Work Order and merchandise information before starting a job
• Ensure accuracy of Laser, Router, and Zund duties before passing the job to the next production stage
• Perform any other related tasks or responsibilities assigned by a supervisor

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent experience required
• 2+ years’ experience working with Lasers, CNC Routers, and Zund cutters
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Enroute, Adobe Illustrator, and I-Cut Programs
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
• Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations

Schedule

This position may require long hours and occasional weekend work to follow up on specific projects.
