Route Sales Specialist

About the role

Bimbo Bakeries USA employs more than 20,000 associates in bakeries, sales centers, offices and on sales routes to deliver the freshest products at every meal. The Route Sales Specialist follows procedures and good business practices to enable routes to grow to potential, delivering fresh product to existing customers, setting up new accounts, merchandising, and supporting sales initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide vacation relief for Route Sales Professionals and Loaders.
• Assist the Sales Leadership Team in day-to-day operations and/or issues as needed.
• Assist with the training of new Route Sales Professionals.
• Deliver fresh product to existing customers on open routes until new RSPs are trained.
• Assist with rack resets.
• Partner with Route Sales Professionals to create alignment in account chains.
• Perform route operation activity, including ordering and distribution, merchandising, promotional activity, holiday planning and meeting customer expectations.
• Communicate with customers to assist them in understanding promotional activity and delivery expectations.
• Ensure product distribution is accomplished to customer satisfaction in agreement with any contract terms and requirements.
• Assist customer relations to include selling of new products, and space/position gains.
• Provide a high level of customer service and solve customer issues as they arise.
• Work location will vary depending on staffing needs.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain and retain a DOT medical card.
• Ability to obtain Chauffer License (if job location is in IN, MI, TN).
• Ability to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers.
• 1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.

Pay

$52,000 - $60,000 Average Annual Salary.

Schedule

Shift: Start time is approximately 5:00 am; Wednesday and Sunday off.
