About the role

The Route Sales Representative builds business partnerships with customers and is dedicated to meeting their expectations and requirements. They obtain customer information through ongoing conversations with key decision makers and apply this information to improve customer product offerings and services, driving client retention. The role focuses on capitalizing on sales opportunities and maintaining an account ownership mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Meet sales expectations and promote overall route growth, service agreement renewal, and customer retention to enhance profitability.
  • Assist in driving route growth by delivering and stocking clients with existing and newly requested products in a timely manner.
  • Solicit new business and increase revenue by selling new items to current customers and obtaining new accounts through lead generation and client referrals.
  • Establish and maintain effective, respectful relationships with customers while providing outstanding service with an account ownership mentality.
  • Focus on account retention and improve accounts by being the primary responder to all customer issues and opportunities.
  • Ensure products are loaded and unloaded safely, delivered on schedule, stocked, rotated, and equipment is maintained and cleaned.
  • Operate Company vehicles safely and courteously, following all rules of the road and DOT requirements.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance of the vehicle and keep the interior clean, organized, and safely maintained.
  • Respect customer and ARAMARK assets.
  • Install and maintain appropriate inventory levels at customer locations, ensuring proper quality and working condition.
  • Responsible for accurate accounting of all monies and products daily in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Follow all Aramark food safety policies and complete required training to maintain service integrity and client safety.
  • Practice attentive and active listening, and communicate effectively under adverse conditions.
  • Communicate with management regarding customer issues, competitor presence, and other relevant information.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a position requiring heavy public contact.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT-regulated vehicles.
  • Ability to load and offload transported items, including lifting 75 lbs repeatedly.
  • Strong communication skills with clients and operations staff, with the ability to respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Proficiency or ability to be trained in selling products to customers.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Acceptable driving record in accordance with the CMV policy.
  • Client interaction, communication, and organization/time management are critical to success.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $29.55.
