Route Sales
Job Summary
Drive and deliver product to customers in a safe, productive, efficient, accurate and timely manner, following established policies and procedures.
Duties Include
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle.
- Verify load has accurate cylinders and hard goods.
- Check that all cylinders have proper shipping labels.
- Fill out truck manifest prior to leaving store.
- Make sure truck has first aid kit, triangles, accident kit, haz-mat guide, etc.
- Check straps, replace bad ones.
- Make sure all cylinder transactions on invoices are correct and get signatures on all invoices.
- Fill out daily trip records including log book and duty sheets.
- Inform supervisor of all moving violations (personal and work-related).
- Follow all requirements on reporting accidents.
- Report any repairs on vehicles as needed to supervisor.
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year delivery experience.
- Minimum 1 year previous experience in route sales plus 1 year customer service background preferred.
- Class "A" or "B" Commercial Drivers' License with Haz-Mat endorsement.
- Must have valid Driver's License with good driving record.
- A working knowledge of safety principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to respond to clients and customers.
- Frequently required to lift 80 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds (with help or proper lifting device).
- Able to work independently, establish priorities and accomplish objectives with minimal supervision.
Salary Range
The salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position which is $30.00/hr-$45.00/hr.
