About the role

The Service Route Representative is responsible and accountable for providing top quality service, distributing batteries and associated products, and offering excellent customer service support to serviced locations, stores, or affiliates. This role involves driving a company delivery truck, managing inventory, and maintaining customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering new and used batteries (cores) and ancillary products.
  • Troubleshooting all technical issues with battery testing equipment.
  • Maintaining battery inventories or PAR levels, battery rotations (based on date code), battery warranties and processing, inventory control, warehouse management (where applicable), and overall account management.
  • Driving within the safety parameters of VCA and Valvoline.
  • Running data reports to assess performance or identify service/sales improvement opportunities.
  • Working closely with Service locations and store management to meet inventory and service needs.
  • Providing daily operational support, insight, and service to the locations they service.
  • Maintaining service and supply goals and budgets as set by the Territory Manager.
  • Maintaining all company-required logs, records, and reports daily.
  • Maintaining proper vehicle appearance and condition.
  • Acting as a backup service route manager for other regions as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of Sales/Account Management experience.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including up to one week of overnight travel per month.
  • Warehousing, inventory, or stock control experience.
  • Delivery route experience.
  • OSHA and DOT knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs. unassisted, while balancing and carrying equipment (includes bending, kneeling, lifting, etc.).
  • Ability to withstand exposure to noise from traffic, cell phone, etc. on a daily basis.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Previous automobile battery delivery experience.
  • Customer Service Certificate.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of battery testing equipment and inventory management systems.
