ROUTE DRIVER/JOB COACH

About the role

Develop business relationships to create employment opportunities for clients. Facilitate the placement and retention of clients in the vocational environment. Counsel and aid clients in obtaining and sustaining social services. Advocate on behalf of the client.

Responsibilities

• Review, determine, and coordinate or provide necessary services for clients to achieve social and vocational integration.
• Interview and evaluate services needed based on client profiles, formulate treatment plans and goals, and arrange for or personally carry out treatment plans.
• Develop client-specific jobs by matching client skills, knowledge, and abilities to complementary career paths.
• Research and solicit employers to hire clients, and assist employers with training issues.
• Determine, suggest, and arrange for adaptive devices, mentoring, or other necessary instruction to complement job training or career development.
• Develop and utilize natural supports to secure vocational success, including sourcing, implementing, or facilitating sustaining transportation systems and human support/network systems.
• Complete all necessary documentation to support billing of services, including formulating job success plans, conducting situational assessments, and performing benefits and disciplinary analyses.
• Interpret and implement existing contracts and performance requirements, and stay current with regulatory developments and trends.
• Assist clients in achieving maximum potential and self-determination.
• Assist the Retail Manager in setting up the daily schedule and communicate with the second driver in the Retail Manager's absence.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalency.
• 6 months' route driving experience and experience in a service-oriented environment, ideally in a job development capacity.
• Above-average interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as basic math skills and proficiency in using office equipment.
• Ability to organize tasks, record and produce accurate work, exercise sound judgment, and travel to various intrastate sites (which may involve overnight stays).
• Valid driver's license, current automotive insurance, and dependable transportation, with availability to operate a vehicle during the day and night.
• First Aid/CPR Training (required), including completion with compressions on the floor or ground.
• Willingness to work schedules based on individual client needs and overtime as required.
• Expected to learn and follow the Individual Plan (IP) of clients.
• Criminal Background free of encumbrances identified by the State of Oklahoma Health Department.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Must be able to work in an office or industrial environment, lift a minimum of 50 pounds up to 150 pounds, and operate a motor vehicle up to 75% of the time. Must also be able to work outdoors in different types of extreme weather environments, comprehend and deductively reason, and respond to visual stimuli. Reliable motor skills, including the use of hands and feet, and motor coordination are also required. Must be able to sit, stoop, walk, or stand for prolonged periods and understand oral and written instructions.
