About the Role
As a Route Driver for Culligan, you will be an integral part of our team, working directly with our customers. This position is based in the Scotia, NY office with occasional travel to area Culligan branches as needed.

Responsibilities
- Directly interface with customers, performing routine customer service tasks including order entry and identifying opportunities for additional company products and services
- Maintain routes and accounts for proper routing sequence, assist with collections, and meet minimum delivery requirements
- Responsible for vehicle inspections, including DVIR and monthly commercial vehicle inspections
- Deliver/exchange all types of P/E tanks, bottled water, salt, chemicals, and filters as required on routes
- Collect and document receipt of money from customers and complete all paperwork legibly, including delivery tickets and route books
- Operate carts, dollies, forklifts, lift gates, hand trucks, and hand tools
- Work overtime if required to finish the route
- Abide by all company policies as contained in the company employee handbook
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards and wear all required safety equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of the city area you would be working in
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using a calculator (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Ability to use GPS app on a cell phone
- Legible penmanship
- Ability to effectively and thoroughly communicate with customers and management, including handling customer challenges
- Maintain a good driving record and possess a valid driver’s license
Employees offered a position are subject to a DOT physical (at time of hire and every two years after), a drug screen, and a background check in accordance with state and Federal laws.
Essential Functions / Physical Requirements
- Lifting and carrying, or otherwise transporting objects weighing over 100 pounds repeatedly (more than 70% of the time)
- Significant time spent walking, standing, sitting, and climbing in and out of the vehicle
- Body movements: bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, reaching above the shoulder, crouching, balancing, pushing, and pulling
- Hand movements: twisting, turning, pulling, pushing, tapping, hitting, and squeezing
- Vision must meet DOT requirements (must pass the vision test)
