Route Driver (CDL Required) (New drivers are OK)

Safety-Kleen in San Jose, CA is seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver. This role involves training to drive a Class B box truck to provide onsite service for parts washer machines, pick up containerized hazardous waste, and sell products/services in a defined route. About the role

• Train to drive a Class B box truck
• Provide onsite service for parts washer machines
• Pick up containerized hazardous waste
• Sell products/services in a defined route
• May visit 10-12 customer sites per day
• General labor including moving containers (5-gallon pails to 55-gallon drums) using hand carts, drum dollies, and pallet jacks
• New CDL holders accepted — we will train you! Automatic restrictions OK

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes
• Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions
• Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks
• Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field
• Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses
• Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner
• Follow all local, state (provincial), and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial), and federal requirements
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class B (new holders accepted; training provided)
• Obtain Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire
• Basic computer and math skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical

Preferred Qualifications

• Commercial route driving experience (Class C or Non-CDL)

Pay

Starting pay: $31.00 hourly (DOE + OT)

Schedule

10-12 hour days
