Route Driver

About the role
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager or Location Manager, the Route Driver is responsible for driving and operating a delivery van and straight truck (box truck) to transport cargo between customer locations. As the face of the company, you will provide exceptional customer service, build strong customer relationships, and ensure timely and accurate deliveries. When not driving, you will assist with warehouse duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
- Drive products to various customer locations
- Load and unload trucks according to established procedures
- Review and optimize delivery routes for efficiency and timely delivery
- Manage daily shipping manifests
- Perform warehouse duties and operate equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks
- Maintain the delivery vehicle in excellent condition, ensuring cleanliness and regular inspections
- Follow safe work habits and established safety procedures
- Safely operate additional warehouse equipment
- Attend meetings and training sessions
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License with appropriate state licensing and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT Medical Exam and obtain a 1-Year Card (paid for by The Kendall Group)
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including bar code scanners, printers, and warehouse tools/machines/vehicles
- Basic math and reasoning skills

Qualifications (Preferred)
- 1 year of experience in industrial wholesale distribution or local delivery driving
