Summary

The Route Delivery Driver at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Transportation team supporting efforts to maintain operational efficiency, enhance brand reputation, and help drive sales. This position involves providing accurate product and pricing information, taking orders, and ensuring product is delivered in a safe and efficient manner and is ideal for someone who is customer service oriented, safety conscious, and pays close attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure goods are loaded into trucks in a safe and logical order; communicate needed changes to manager.
  • Ensure the load is properly secured.
  • Verify order to ensure correct products loaded and delivered.
  • Deliver orders to customers according to predetermined route delivery schedule; communicate any needed routing changes to the manager.
  • Responsible for handling merchandise in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Unload products from delivery truck and place product as the customer desires.
  • Provide efficient, accurate and productive service to the customer.
  • Perform backhauls, airport pickups, etc. as needed.
  • Ensure all necessary delivery paperwork is completed accurately and in full; complete credit/debit documentation accurately.
  • Return all shipping documents, return product and credit documentation to designated area on completion of deliveries.
  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and report any maintenance problems to manager.
  • Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the company-customer relationship as it applies to the scope of the job function.
  • Address and/or communicate customer issues and requests promptly to the appropriate individuals to facilitate resolution.
  • Represent the company positively in all customer interactions.
  • Perform all required safety checks (i.e. pre/post trip) to insure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed; reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all company, state and federal rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork.
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • A minimum of one year of related experience in delivery and sales of perishable food products
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • The ability to pass a road test

Preferred Skills

  • Proven track record of succeeding in time-sensitive situations
  • Familiarity with local area, including streets, highways, and buildings

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to:

  • Stand particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walk moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
  • Reach extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Grasp applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hear perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; receive detailed information through oral communication and make distinction in sound.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is exposed to:

  • Office, as well as warehouse environment.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
  • Plant exposure to wet, cold, and/or humid temperatures.
  • Standard office equipment and heavy machinery.
