About the Role
Process castings through visual inspection, grinding/blending, finishing, and shipping when applicable.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety requirements as posted on the job safety card.
- Consistently follow all applicable work instructions.
- Receive daily work assignments from the department supervisor or lead person.
- Take castings from the file and burr rack, visually inspect them, remove or blend any burrs, flash, or excess metal while maintaining an acceptable cosmetic appearance.
- Visually inspect all castings for obvious defects and attempt to repair those that do not require weld.
- Visually mark areas on the casting that require weld and move them to the appropriate area.
- After welding, blend the welds, complete the finishing process, and prepare castings for shipment if required.
- Remove gate stubs from castings while maintaining casting dimensions and cosmetic appearance.
- Maintain batch integrity.
- Maintain all records and vouchers in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring accuracy is paramount.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Work in an area where airborne grinding dust is present.
Special Skills Required
- Must be able to handle the physical demands of the job.
Training Requirements
- Attend and successfully complete hazardous material/waste handling classes.
- Attend and successfully complete lockout/tagout training.
- Attend and successfully complete training in the proper techniques of lifting.
