Rough Electrical

Department: Rough Electric   |   Reports to: Production Manager   |   Location: Detroit Lakes, MN

About the role

Working with a team or individually, the Rough Electric Crew member installs and inspects various electrical components needed for home fixtures and electrical systems. Identifies electrical and safety concerns applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Installs electrical components within a controlled environment
• Identifies materials needed using the purchase order
• Ensures compliance with appropriate electrical codes
• Maintains inventory, tools and supplies
• Locates correct product and quantity
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of work area
• Works in a safe manner and follows all safety policies including wearing appropriate PPE
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, blueprints, floor plans, and work orders for projects
• Proficient knowledge of electrical materials, industry standards, and codes
• Strict attention to detail and order accuracy
• Ability to use both manual and power tools and know the proper use for each one
• Ability to perform physical work overhead for extended periods of time
• Ability to use mathematics and measuring devices to calculate length, width, height, depth, etc.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instruction
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds comfortably and consistently
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Maintains a valid Driver’s License

Physical Demands

• Lifts heavy objects up to 80 pounds
• Walks and stands for long periods of time
• Performs physical labor in a climate-controlled environment
• Lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
• Effectively jumps, sprints, or throws objects
• Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
• Ability to quickly move arms and legs
• Excellent stamina

Work Environment

• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Moderate noise level in the work environment
• Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas where the use of safety glasses is required, and the use of hearing protection may be required

Pay

Starting wage: $19.55 per hour

Schedule

Full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.
