About the role
The Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer/Specialist supports the site’s vision of being the most competitive refinery in North America by improving the reliability and performance of critical rotating equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead troubleshoot and diagnosing efforts in collaboration with other work groups (including maintenance, operations, monitoring, engineering, and external resources as needed).
- Provide technical support to both operations and maintenance personnel around machinery programs including predictive (PdM) maintenance, lubrication, alignment, and precision repair practices involving machinery specs/standards.
- Support equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and defect diagnosis through use of process and equipment health data from multiple sources including: Portable, wireless, and continuous vibration monitoring systems, Process and equipment performance monitoring instrumentation, Area ownership of rotating equipment work order scopes, cases, and small project upgrade recommendations.
Requirements
- One year or more experience troubleshooting, maintaining, or improving rotating equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
- Experience with applying reliability, maintenance, or engineering principles (RCA, PdM, preventative maintenance, repair practices).
- Working knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, steam turbines, compressors, gearboxes, electric motors, etc.
- Demonstrated experience participating across maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to solve problems and implement solutions.
- Ability to travel for technical development, professional development, conferences, factory acceptance testing, and 3rd party shop audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Experience in rotating equipment reliability engineering or maintenance within a refining or heavy industrial field.
- ISO Vibration Analyst certification (Category I, II, or higher).
- International Council for Machinery Lubrication MLT/MLA Certifications.
- Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE).
- Experience working with additional predictive/ technologies (motion amplification, oil analysis, ultrasonic, thermography).
- Hands on experience with Installation, rebuilds, alignment, or repair of rotating equipment.

$110,000 - $140,000 per year.
