About the role

THE DALMAR HOTEL, as part of the Wurzak Hotel Group, is an award-winning hotel unlike anything Fort Lauderdale has seen. We are seeking a friendly, focused Barista who lives for coffee and creating memorable moments for the customers they serve.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or promotions for guest awareness.
• Prepare and serve customized coffee beverages.
• Understand and comply with proper ordering and food handling techniques and state and local serving guidelines.
• Ensure all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.
• Impress guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards; maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
• Anticipate guests and fellow team member needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests and team members, however busy and whatever time of day; be familiar with all Hotel services/features and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
• Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
• Report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items, and safety hazards to management.
• Report any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management.
• Complete closing side duties.

Requirements

• Ability to prepare and serve customized coffee beverages.
• Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
• Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
• Able to understand and comply with proper ordering and food handling techniques and state and local serving guidelines.
• Attention to details with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
• Great customer service skills and demonstrated willingness to exceed guest expectations.
• Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient.

Qualifications

• High school education or related experience.
• Previous experience as a coffee shop barista in a cafe setting is a plus.
• Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
