ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead guests on guided Canopy Course Adventures
- Maintain trails and grounds accompanying the Canopy Course
- Perform required inspections of all equipment as scheduled
- Perform required inspections of course components as scheduled
- Teach our guests about the plant and wildlife of the Mountain
- Teach our guests how to operate all equipment involved in the Canopy Adventure
- Transport guests to desired locations when necessary
- Complete necessary training for ACCT Level 1 high ropes certification
- Display proficiency in rescue procedures
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Past experience operating a ropes course is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with ropes, carabiners, harnesses and other climbing gear
- Must be certified in First Aid and Wilderness First Aid
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to resolve any issues regarding guests in relation to the program
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on safety, job knowledge and awareness of company goals
- Able to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency rescue scenario
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Comfortable working at height in the trees
- Wearing a harness for several hours at a time during their shift
- Using various power tools including but not limited to chainsaws, drills, etc.
- Excellent physical dexterity and fine motor skills to operate all gear in a variety of weather conditions
- Reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing including occasional spotting
- Climbing steep terrain and unmarked trails
- Carrying heavy loads
- Safely operating a company vehicle or golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- 5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain, including steep terrain and unmarked trails
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
Pay
Pay Range: $16.00–$20.00 per hour. Starting compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
