About The Role
The Rooms Controller is responsible for managing hotel inventory and maintaining the efficient operation of the front office.
Position Responsibilities
- Complies with all New Jersey/CCC regulatory requirements
- Adhere to established company and departmental procedures, guidelines, and policies at all times
- Facilitates communications between the various hotel/casino departments and the Front Desk
- Aid in the check-in/check-out process for hotel guests
- Generate, verify, and distribute hotel reports necessary for Front Desk Operations
- Balance guest folios and ensure that every reservation has a valid payment method
- Aid in assisting our guests and VIP clientele with all their accommodations
- Resolve guest complaints and increase guest retention
- Respond and assist to phone inquiries from internal and external guests
- Process all forms of settlement methods
- Verify team member banks at the end of the shift and report discrepancies
- Aid in handling guest packages and post charges in the system
- Assist with training and developing new team members
- Maintain accurate property information through daily use of the intranet, email, and other forms of communications
- Aid in coordinating special requests, such as spa appointments or celebrations
- Other duties as defined by the management team
Essential Functions
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Problem-solving ability and resourcefulness
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
Requirements
- Computer proficiency
- Customer service experience, preferably in hospitality is required
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (Read, Write, Speak and Understand)
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred
