About The Role

The Rooms Controller is responsible for managing hotel inventory and maintaining the efficient operation of the front office.

Position Responsibilities

  • Complies with all New Jersey/CCC regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to established company and departmental procedures, guidelines, and policies at all times
  • Facilitates communications between the various hotel/casino departments and the Front Desk
  • Aid in the check-in/check-out process for hotel guests
  • Generate, verify, and distribute hotel reports necessary for Front Desk Operations
  • Balance guest folios and ensure that every reservation has a valid payment method
  • Aid in assisting our guests and VIP clientele with all their accommodations
  • Resolve guest complaints and increase guest retention
  • Respond and assist to phone inquiries from internal and external guests
  • Process all forms of settlement methods
  • Verify team member banks at the end of the shift and report discrepancies
  • Aid in handling guest packages and post charges in the system
  • Assist with training and developing new team members
  • Maintain accurate property information through daily use of the intranet, email, and other forms of communications
  • Aid in coordinating special requests, such as spa appointments or celebrations
  • Other duties as defined by the management team

Essential Functions

  • Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
  • Problem-solving ability and resourcefulness
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours
  • Must be able to stand for an entire shift
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs

Requirements

  • Computer proficiency
  • Customer service experience, preferably in hospitality is required
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (Read, Write, Speak and Understand)
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred

Pay Rate

$19.00/hour
