About the role

The Gwen is a historic hotel located in downtown Chicago, inspired by the city's rich history from the 1930s. As part of HEI Hotels & Resorts, we aim to bring luxury to a new generation of travelers while honoring our heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and deliver all food and beverage orders in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Conduct floor sweeps and retrieve all food and beverage trays to maintain sanitation.
  • Service all VIP amenities and hospitality suites as per Banquet Event Orders.
  • Complete all shift side work as outlined in the hotel’s operating policies.
  • Respond to customer needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience.
  • Report all communication to the immediate shift supervisor.
  • Perform all cash handling responsibilities in accordance with company policies.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate well with guests.
  • Physical ability to move, lift, and carry goods on a cart weighing up to 100 lbs., and large trays weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

Pay

Salary Range: $16.70 - $16.70 hourly
