About the Role

The Lead Room Service Rep provides the highest quality of customer service to patients with their meals, ensuring the orderly operation of the room service program and efficient delivery of patient meals while adhering to HACCP and other regulatory agency policies. This position supervises room service representatives, expeditors, floor stockers, and dish room attendants, taking ownership of the tray line to ensure meals are presentable, accurate, and patient satisfaction is maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all Room Service Representatives, Expediters, Floor Stocker, and Dish Room Attendants’ activities as outlined in their respective job descriptions.
  • Communicates effectively with employees, patients, and their family members/guests to ensure quality meals and resolve problems.
  • Maintains records for financial and quality control, including taking temperatures of food items, completing tray count paperwork, conducting audits, test trays, and meal rounds.
  • Holds pre-service meetings with the room service team as needed and reports discrepancies to the room service supervisor promptly.
  • Ensures tray tickets print on time and trays are prepared efficiently and delivered promptly.
  • Assists with training room service employees and has knowledge of all diets.
  • Documents and reports incidents to the room service supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintains adherence to department and hospital policies and procedures, correcting employees who do not comply.
  • Exemplifies leadership skills by working well with others and setting a positive example.
  • Assists the Room Service Supervisor with projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous supervisor experience is preferred.

  • Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff; use an assisted-lift device or seek assistance for heavier lifts.

Full Time, 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
