About the Role
To ensure all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures in accordance with Hospitality Standards and to handle payment transactions for all foods and/or beverages purchased in the room services department. Perform close of shift accounting procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist managers in opening and closing duties.
- Answer all phone calls and handle guest requests and food orders appropriately.
- Take Room Service food/beverage orders over the phone in a professional manner, ensuring all information is recorded correctly.
- Have full knowledge of all aspects of the Room Service Menu.
- Perform close of shift accounting procedures by receiving daily cash outs from the servers and process with the proper payment method.
- Have full knowledge of the Point of Sale system.
- Assist with room service order setup to ensure every order meets specified standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Certificate(s) or License(s): Food Handlers Card and Smart Serv Alcohol (provided if not applicable).
- One to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills
- Writing: Communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Basic Computer Skills: Using basic computer hardware and software (e.g., personal computers, word processing software, Internet browsers, etc.).
- Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Oral Comprehension: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Analytical/Critical Thinking: The ability to gather and organize information using a logical and systematic process; recognize patterns and relationships in complex data; examine data to identify implications, problems, and draw appropriate conclusions; generate alternative solutions to problems; evaluate strengths, weaknesses, and consequences of alternative solutions.
- Guest and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services, including guest needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction.
- Number Facility: The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly stands, walks, does computer work, and lifts up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally sits.
- Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp, and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis.
